“He that will not apply new remedies must expect new evils; for time is the greatest innovator,“ so said Francis Bacon, English author, philosopher, statesman, scientist, lawyer, jurist and general all around Renaissance smart guy.
What he said in the early 17th century still holds true for today, especially for agriculture. Simply put, innovate, adapt or become part of history.
Autumn traditionally has offered a pause in activities to evaluate and reflect on the past seasons’ occurrences. It still does, albeit to a lesser degree in this time-starved, got-to-have-it-now environment.
