In general, crop conditions are good in Okaloosa County, but there are a few dry spots where crops are suffering.  Insect pressure has been at a minimum, but could change as the summer progresses.  Cotton bolls are developing nicely, with an isolated incident of a micronutrient deficiency.  Soybean producers are engaged in preventative spraying for Soybean Rust.   Peanut producers who did not treat earlier are now experiencing some weed breakthrough.  Beggarweeds are most of the problem, but Bristly Starbur is running a strong second.  Peanut producers are assessing the weed situation on a case by case assessment and determining how to treat.
